John is the principal consultant at brøndum.au with an extensive experience in digital transformation and enterprise architecture.

He has provided technical and architecture leadership across fintech start-ups, industry wide transformation initiatives (CDR & NPP), business re-inventions, and global agile software development.

He also holds a Ph.D. in Software Architecture (Data61 & UNSW).

Daniel Clements is the Security Operations Manager at nib Group , where he bridges the gap between high-level security strategy and hands-on engineering. With a diverse background as a Software Engineer, DevOps Lead, and Entrepreneur , Daniel brings a uniquely pragmatic and “automation-first” lens to modern security challenges.

Recently, Daniel has focused on the frontier of Security Operations modernization, successfully building and implementing AI triage agents and SOAR workflows to transform how teams handle investigations, response, and stakeholder communications. He is an expert in operationalizing threat management and has extensive experience in ISO 27001 ISMS management , leading audits with zero non-conformances.

Whether he’s scaling a Security Response Unit or architecting cloud-native security controls , Daniel is passionate about moving beyond the “checkbox” mentality to deliver security that actually works for the business.

With nearly 30 years in tech, I’ve navigated the realms of on prem and cloud infrastructure, seen the emergence of DevOps, platform engineering and cloud and I’m still grateful that I accidentally ended up in this industry. What a ride.

I’m now Staff Product Manager for Pipelines at Buildkite, working on the CI/CD platform trusted by some of the best engineering teams in the world. Before that I spent years building migrating workloads and building cloud foundations as a consultant and team lead.

I’m passionate about breaking down barriers into tech and am always looking to support initiatives that champion non-traditional pathways into the industry. Diversity is more than gender after all!
